New Puppy Pictures!

Our puppies are four and three quarters months old and they are nearly as big as their parents now. Momma is a white Siberian Husky with white-blue eyes, Daddy dog is a Dalmatian mixed with black lab and who knows what else. Here are the latest pictures of Moose, Bosco, and Breezy…

Breezy was the runt who suffered “swimmer puppy syndrome” that we feared might leave him crippled, but we gave him lots of physical therapy and eventually he got his feet under him, and now he is the most athletic of the three! Breezy is the only one to inherit his mom’s pointy ears.

Breezy hardly ever sits still, and he moves too fast to get a good shot of him outside his rare moments of relaxation.

Moose, the first born who has always been the biggest pup, is the most mellow and he loves to have his picture taken:

Bosco is the brown one, second born, and in the middle temperament-wise as well. He’s also the puppy who STAYS in the playard like a good boy most of the time while his brothers dig under the fence and escape (luckily they stay near the house and let me catch them) which they do A LOT (I hear it’s a Husky thing). He is a pretty boy:

And here they are along the fence, plotting their next hole…

I hope you enjoyed the Puppy Show, and that you have a fabulous weekend!

I Knew It Was A Longshot

The odds were not in Tiger’s favor, not at all, and I knew it but I had to try my best to help him anyway because trying meant he had a chance to make it while he faced certain death if we did nothing.

Tiger had a good day yesterday, and rewarded me in the evening by purring a little and leaning in to my caresses when I pet him, but he was sluggish at his overnight feedings (I hoped he was just sleepy) and he was weak in the morning. I did everything I could to try to save him, but he was so little and so young to be without a cat-mom.

Tiger just crossed the Rainbow Bridge a short time ago. We knew him less than 48 hours, but we loved him. I am sad but I know he had one good day; clean, dry, safe, warm, fed, and loved, that he would not have had otherwise. Sometimes you can beat the odds, often the odds will beat you, but try your best to ease suffering when you can anyway.

Tiger’s Tale

Yesterday, hubby brought home from his jobsite an abondoned baby kitten who is only a few days old. The kitten’s momma was seen on Friday moving her litter, and husband thought she had gotten them all, but Monday morning revealed one lone baby in a box and the kitten’s momma did not return by the end of hubby’s work day so he brought it to me rather than leave it to die abandoned. He knows I would never say no, and that I have supplies on hand from our poor sweet baby Telly’s short life.

I named the baby Tiger, and I am pleased to tell you that he survived his first night and day of hand feeding. He still faces long odds against him, but he eats, sleeps, peeps, and poops LIKE A BOSS, so I will take that as a positive sign and again request any prayers and good thoughts you might be willing to offer for Tiger (and maybe for me to remain strong enough to handle the constant care he will need). Here is baby Tiger’s first picture, taken this morning:

image

All the male cats here have been taking turns watching over him, they are good boys. All the cats have given him kisses, too. The dogs want to kiss him, but they will have to wait till he is bigger and stronger for the type of love they like to give to the cats.

Here We Go Again

Hubby has advised me that he has another abandoned feral kitten coming home with him today. It is the runt of a litter he’d been watching at his job site and its momma left with all the kittens but this little one who has apparently been alone and unfed for quite some time. I’m still heartbroken from losing baby Telly, but I have kitten formula on hand still so I will try to help this new little orphan. Please wish me good luck and pray for all of God’s little creatures who need help. I hope I can help this poor baby & that my own kitties will be sweet to it.

Parents Gone Wild

This seems nuts to me, but I’m just a boring stay at home mom who homeschools and even if I wanted to I could not afford to send my kids away for the summer (and I wouldn’t want to): Parents having drug fueled sex parties while their children are at sleepaway camp:

“As soon as [our children] left, we’ve been in nonstop [party] mode — it’s seven weeks of freedom,” says Elle, a fitness instructor whose two kids are away for the first summer ever, leaving her to enjoy parties with pot, magic mushrooms, ecstasy and group sex.

“This is the first time in nine years I’m not having to be a mom — I want no responsibility,” says Elle, who, like many in this story, declined to give her last name for privacy reasons. “Some friends have swingers parties — I’ve seen group sex . . . It’s no pressure, go with the flow. It’s summer.”

“It feels like we’re kids at an adult camp — we’ve earned it,”   MORE DEPRAVITY HERE

They’ve “earned it”, and they’re gonna do whatever they want. I honestly cannot imagine handing my kids off to strangers for weeks at a time and not missing them or worrying about them, but I guess I am just an old fuddy duddy because mate swapping and group sex in the children’s bedrooms seems creepy to me as well. Also, hangovers suck, and I’ve heard that STDs aren’t all that much fun either.

July Seventeeth

Today is my birthday. I’m enjoying a nice quiet day at home, with the family and pets, and the weather is nice today for mid-July, not too hot or humid after some storms rolled through yesterday, also, there is a The Walking Dead marathon on TV today and a new episode of Preacher on tonight, so it is a good day.

Here are some links from around the blogofriendosphere:

Adrienne recently asked for our opinions on the Pokemon Go fad, see her comments section for the discussion.

Pat Austin at And So It Goes In Shreveport has gotten herself hooked.

Here are some news stories about Baton Rouge, Louisiana, see if you can find any coincidental commonalities:

New Black Panthers Chapter formed in BR, LA

Seven cops shot in Baton Rouge

Three Baton Rouge Cops Killed; one suspect dead, two at large

It was an ambush

Baton Rouge boy arrested amid investigation into alleged plot to kill police

Recently, Barky had nice things to say about some guys who got themselves shot by cops and gave a lecture about how RAAAAACIST he thinks cops are while at a memorial service for five cops who were assassinated by a black supremacist douchebag

All of it, of course, unexpected and unrelated, just like how islamic terrorist attacks have “nothing to do with islam“. Uh-huh.

In other unsurprising news, The National Review is still in the throws of malignant TDS.

The Daily Pundit is holding a fundraiser to escape from San FranHellHole and move back to where people still love America, please help him out if you can!

If you need a palate cleanser from all the depressing and crazy news that’s out there, take Grunt’s advice and go spend time in small town right wing America, where people are still decent and good times that will make great memories may still be had. Just watch out for those freshwater sharks!

My friend Whoopie at Blur Brain shares some very important thoughts about all those flowery balloon & teddy bear shrines that spring up every time islamic savages butcher a bunch of innocent civilized people, HERE.

Insty brings a bit of optimism with the news that we may soon see a vaccine for dementia brought to human trials.

DaTechGuy is looking for a good writer or two to add to his stable of fine bloggers that he calls The Magnificent Seven.

Did you know that Turkey has 50 US nukes to hold hostage? Go read about it at Maggie’s Notebook and also be sure to see everything you need to know about Gulen Schools there as well, it is important WTF stuff!

Some (new) messed up tyrannical stuff is going down in Chicago, read about it at HillBuzz.

Well, that’s enough at the computer for me for now, I hope you get good use out of the above links and I hope you enjoy the rest of this fine day, which, again, happens to be my birthday. I’ve got some yummy ice cream birthday cake to eat that my husband got for me, zombies on tv to watch, and a bunch of puppies looking at me who need to be walked. The puppies are getting big, I still have all three and their parents, I will try to get some new photos of them and Pumpkin the Kitten up soon in a new post. See ya later!

Happy #NationalFriedChickenDay

July 6th is National Fried Chicken Day. If you spent your Independence Day weekend eating barbeque, some fried chicken might be a nice break for you.

Did you know that crushed up sugary breakfast cereal makes a yummy coating for fried chicken? A bar in Baldwin, NY that is no longer there used to make Cap’n Crunch fried chicken, served with honey mustard dipping sauce, and it was soooo good. I’ve tried it at home using all kinds of cereals and it is a real palate pleaser here at The Resister House.

The Lil’ Resisters are suffering from summer colds today and I’m up to my ears in ever-growing puppies, so I don’t think I’ll be frying my own chicken today, but maybe when I go to the store to get the kids stuff to make them feel better I’ll pick some up – cuz chicken has magical feel better properties anyway, even (or especially) when fried.

Do you like fried chicken? Do you make your own, or do you have a favorite fryer of chicken that you go to? How do you like your fried chicken? What do you like to have with it? I like cornbread or biscuits ‘n’ gravy with mine, and a lil’ salad so I can pretend to care about a “healthy diet”. Mmmm mmmm mmmm.

Bellah and Pumpkin

Pumpkin Kitten is an only child again after we lost little Telly, but she is still a very happy little thing what with the having her two loving biological cat parents always nearby and all, but Pumpkin is such a busy fuzzball that even two one-year-old kitties can’t keep up with her, so she has buddied up with momma dog Bellah whose puppies are now nearly as big as herself and not cuddly for her (like Pumpkin is) anymore.

Pumpkin likes to bite Bellah’s tail:

Bellah’s ice-blue eyes glow red with love for little Pumpkin:

They are so sweet together:

I hope this bit of sweetness and love has made you smile.

Is This Thing On?

I have been having problems with this site for months now but have been too busy with puppies, kittens, and kids to get on an actual computer to deal with it until now. I noticed that this blog seems to vanish from teh interwebz for hours or days at a time for no apparent reason and that my sharing buttons vanish even when the blog does not. This, after having lost five years of my database earlier this year.

What’s going on? I am not sure. If I were paranoid, I might suspect something nefarious due to my having poked a few hornet’s nests over the years, but since I am not nearly as active as I used to be and haven’t poked at anything meaniepants for a while I think there is probably just a glitch somewhere in my files so I will have to go digging around in them and hope not to screw more stuff up while I do. Wish me luck with that last bit, please!

If I don’t end up blowing up the place (again), I’m hoping to do some design changes too that might make the place look and function better. So, “please pardon our dust” and if you are reading this and my comments thingy is working, I’d love to hear from you. Thank you for your patience.
