July 6th is National Fried Chicken Day. If you spent your Independence Day weekend eating barbeque, some fried chicken might be a nice break for you.
Did you know that crushed up sugary breakfast cereal makes a yummy coating for fried chicken? A bar in Baldwin, NY that is no longer there used to make Cap’n Crunch fried chicken, served with honey mustard dipping sauce, and it was soooo good. I’ve tried it at home using all kinds of cereals and it is a real palate pleaser here at The Resister House.
The Lil’ Resisters are suffering from summer colds today and I’m up to my ears in ever-growing puppies, so I don’t think I’ll be frying my own chicken today, but maybe when I go to the store to get the kids stuff to make them feel better I’ll pick some up – cuz chicken has magical feel better properties anyway, even (or especially) when fried.
