Fear and Loathing from the White House

Google what kind of person is always promoting fear and the first result you get is Megalomania! What is megalomania? “Megalomania is an unrealistic belief in one’s superiority, grandiose abilities, and even omnipotence. It is characterized by a need for total power and control over others, and is marked by a lack of empathy for anything that is perceived as not feeding the self.”
Edmund Burke said “No passion so effectively robs the mind of all its powers of acting and reasoning as fear.” This is the tactic of the bully and abusers around the world. Those who rule by tyrrany. The same tactic used by the terrorist, whose object is to promote fear and chaos in order to conltrol and destroy those they disagree with.
George Orwell, in “1984”
“The object of terrorism is terrorism. The object of oppression is oppression. The object of torture is torture. The object of murder is murder. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?”

We are living under a President that seems to have no desire to lead, rather he spends his time either lavishly spending the treasure of the country on himself and his cronies, or threatening and intimidating the very people of the country. When we see this behavior in some other country, we recognize it for what it is. We saw it with Muammar Gaddafi of Libya, with Mubarak of Egypt, or the former President of Yeman,Saleh. The man who told us that these leaders along with Bashar al-Assad of Syria, must go, is the same man who is using the tactics of fear and intimidation upon us.

Marjane Satrapi in her book, The Complete Persepolis, says “When we’re afraid, we lose all sense of analysis and reflection. Our fear paralyzes us. Besides, fear has always been the driving force behind all dictators’ repression.”
If you look at what happens in relationship where one person exerts total control over another you usually find one or two outcomes, either the person being intimidated finally breaks free and destroys their abuser, or their abuser finally destroys them.

Thomas Jefferson said, “Rebellion to tyranny is obedience to God.”
But rebellion to tyranny comes with a high price and the people have to have the desire for rebellion. Where one half the people are quite comfortable relying on the dole of the other half of the country, there is little desire on their part for any change. They are comfortable with a President that is constantly spreading fear because what he is saying is just what they already believe and until they have reason to believe something else, it is going to be impossible to convince them that he is anything other than what he himself claims to be.

From an interesting post in Dr. Sanity I found this insightful quote, ” With the classic narcissist, language is used cruelly and ruthlessly to ensnare one’s enemies, to sow confusion and panic, to move others to emulate the narcissist (“projective identification”), to leave the listeners in doubt, in hesitation, in paralysis, to gain control, or to punish. Language is enslaved and forced to lie. The language is appropriated and expropriated. It is considered to be a weapon, an asset, a piece of lethal property, a traitorous mistress to be gang raped into submission. —Sam Vaknin, author,Malignant Self Love.”

People on the left and right both constantly go to great lengths to prevent bullying, at least they say they do, and yet here in Mr. Obama we have a personality that seems to live by doing constant bullying and harassing. He even has an enemies list.
The definition of a bully is:
1)A person who has never learnt to accept responsibility for their behaviour
2)wants to enjoy the benefits of living in the adult world, but who is unable and unwilling to accept the responsibilities that are a prerequisite for being part of the adult world.
3)abdicates and denies responsibility for their behaviour and its consequences (abdication and denial are common features of bullying)
4)is unable and unwilling to recognise the effect of their behaviour on others
5)does not want to know of any other way of behaving
6)is unwilling to recognise that there could be better ways of behaving.
They go on to say,”Bullying is obsessive and compulsive; the serial bully has to have someone to bully and appears to be unable to survive without a current target.”

From Aung San Suu Kyi, Freedom from Fear
“It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it.”

Horace Greeley tells us that“It is impossible to enslave, mentally or socially, a bible-reading people. The principles of the bible are the groundwork of human freedom.”
But we are not the Bible-reading people that we were on the founding of the country. We tend to get our daily dose of scripture in small doses if we get any at all, and most of todays churches are caving to political pressure and going along with the current trends of teaching what makes people happy. In doing so, we seem to have lowered the threshold of morality and lost our principles along the way. We have allowed ourselves to reach the point of enslavement, mentally, socially, and we may find ourselves imprisioned in a literal sense very shortly by a powerful elite that thinks what they want and desire must be applied to the people. Instead of being servants of the people, we have let our guard down and they are in position to become the masters.
