Andrew Sullivan Has Sad Feels Again [“Deeply Depressed”/”Terrified”]

Poor Sully, he just can’t wrap his zombie brain around the ugly reality that is blasting his beautiful fantasy to smithereens.

Yes, Andrew: Obama is a buffoon. It seems everybody knows that except you and your minions of Lefty Loons.

Reality bites, man. I feel your pain, I really do. Your feels must be similar to my feels when I realized Santa wasn’t real.

But I was in elementary school.

Seriously: has that kind of swing ever happened this late in a campaign? Has any candidate lost 18 points among women voters in one night ever? And we are told that when Obama left the stage that night, he was feeling good. That’s terrifying. On every single issue, Obama has instantly plummeted into near-oblivion.

Terrifying?? Are you serious, Andy? This is TERRIFYING? Do you even know the meaning of that word?

Terrifying is being a Christian in Pakistan (or in any other Islamic hell hole). Terrified of being accused of “insulting the prophet” and getting a death sentence. Terrified of having acid thrown on your face for not being covered. Terrified of being raped because you’re an infidel “whore”.

Terrifying is being a Jewish child in a small Israeli town called Sderot. Terrified of rockets fired into your schoolyard. Terrified of not making it to the bomb shelter when all you’ve got is 15 seconds from the warning siren. Terrified of never having a night’s sleep because you can’t stop the tremors in your body. Terrified of never learning to read and write because you can’t focus, because you have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, the same chronic mental illness soldiers came home with from Vietnam.

Terrifying is not knowing if you will have a job tomorrow because your company is making massive lay-offs thanks to the shit economic mess Obama’s policies have created and you’ve got mouths to feed and if you don’t work you’ll lose your home. Terrifying is knowing that if this happens–if you have no food to put on the table and no way to keep your home–no one can help you, because your friends/neighbors/extended family are all in the same boat.

Terrifying is not–I repeat, NOT–the Republican nominee getting a few points ahead in a debate with your pathetically stupid, incompetent, petty, and narcissistic president.

And another thing, Andy: Accusing Mitt Romney of what your Dear Leader is actually guilty of (and you damn well know it) makes YOU the “shameless liar”.

How can Obama come back? By ensuring people know that Romney was and is a shameless liar and opportunist? That doesn’t work for a sitting president.

Uh-huh. I see what you did there, Sulls. Nice under-handed use of a classic Alinsky tactic: accuse your opponent of what you (and Obama) are actually guilty of.

And yes, it DOES work for a sitting president…this one…it does. Obama is not at all above insults and false accusations.

Or maybe, just maybe, Obama can regain our trust and confidence somehow in the next debate. Maybe he can begin to give us a positive vision of what he wants to do (amazing that it’s October and some of us are still trying to help him, but he cannot). Maybe if Romney can turn this whole campaign around in 90 minutes, Obama can now do the same. But I doubt it. A sitting president does not recover from being obliterated on substance, style and likability in the first debate and get much of a chance to come back. He has, at a critical moment, deeply depressed his base and his supporters and independents are flocking to Romney in droves

Aw, that’s sad.
